NOT QUITE WHITE KNIGHT

All his life, the port wine stain birthmark on Roland Lakes’s face has meant pain: hearing loss, migraines, and neglect from parents who refused to treat him. He decided long ago that if the world sees a monster, he has no use for its opinion. His callousness is armor that’s kept him safe, if isolated—until he meets Noelle Cabot.

After her parents’ deaths, Noelle became an expert actress, playing the part of the obedient niece for her abusive aunt and uncle. College only gives her more masks to wear. When she meets golden boy Spencer Sharpe, he seems like the perfect boyfriend, but his beauty and charm are weapons. His roommate, however, is exactly what he appears: guarded, rude, and brutally honest.

Drawn to the soft heart beneath Roland’s rough exterior, Noelle finds an acceptance she's never known. Breaking free from Spencer's possessive control is a dangerous gamble, though, and the spoiled prince plays for keeps. As Roland fights to protect Noelle, he must confront his own belief that he’s unworthy of love.

Noelle never dreamed of a white knight on a motorcycle, but then, Roland has always defied expectations. Besides, a resourceful princess can rescue herself—and she might just save the man she loves, too.
